About Boris

BORIS stands for Bookings and Other Recorded Information System. It is designed in Microsoft Access and works as the central point for all your companies data.

The idea behind BORIS was to provide one central point for the data for a small conference business. They needed a resource that multiple site users could access, check and update when they were on their shift, and prevented loss of critical data. In short BORIS:

  • * Reduces double-entry of data
  • * Is a central point for information sharing, helping you stay organised
  • * Services the data requirements of your business
  • * Helps staff save time; and
  • * Creates a consistent delivery to your clients.

BORIS assigns a record to each booking and this is the basis for all details about the booking.

It is linked to a contact using a unique identifier so a contact can be assigned to multiple bookings using the same details and not needing to enter them twice.

About PodBods

PodBods is essentially a client record database or contact management system(CMS) for a Podiatry clinic.

Along side the CMS there is a tool to update the appointments of clients and also monitor old and new clients.

The screen capture to the right shows a six tabbed record for a patient including, address, contact details and relationships with other patients. All this information is summarised in the report for the patient.

The system also records the current podiatrist and clinic location.

Access to PodBods is using a Access database but is password protected for as many users as required, it also can have multiple instances running.

PodBods uses a reference table system which is updatable by those users with access to that feature.

Finally, every record change is recorded in the audit trail of the database so that any modifications or errors can be investigated and restored.

About Horsham Fitness Scale

The Horsham Fitness Scale is a measure of population fitness.

Devised by a local GP the concept is to record patient fitness levels for population studies. This will aid hospitals, nursing homes etc, to assess the fitness of their patients and outcomes of interventions.

This comprehensive measure allows the user to select an activity, choose an appropriate distance and time and calculate the centile range for that patient. Additionally the system would also map the centile range against other activities to maintain that level of fitness.

The system runs as a self-contained Visual Basic (VB.Net) application linked to a MS Access database back end. As an option from the main screen there is a Modify Settings tool to update the data to extend the number of activities to include or parallel scales to compare with.
